1. Introduction

LockMyPic ("we", "our", or "the app") is a private photo and video vault for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. We are committed to your privacy: LockMyPic is designed so that we never have access to your personal files or data.

2. Information We Collect

LockMyPic does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on our servers. We do not require you to create an account. The app operates entirely on your device. Specifically:

  • We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identifiers.
  • We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party SDKs that collect user data.
  • We do not access or transmit your photos, videos, or any media files.
  • We do not display advertisements or share data with advertising networks.

3. Camera & Microphone Access

LockMyPic requests access to your device camera and microphone solely to enable the built-in private camera feature. Photos and videos captured using this feature are encrypted immediately on your device and never saved to your standard photo library. We do not access your camera or microphone in the background.

4. Photo Library Access

When you choose to import media from your photo library, LockMyPic requests read access to retrieve only the files you explicitly select. After importing and encrypting the files into your vault, the app does not retain ongoing access to your photo library. We never scan, index, or upload your library.

5. Face ID & Touch ID

LockMyPic uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework to provide Face ID and Touch ID authentication. All biometric data is processed entirely by the operating system within Apple's Secure Enclave. LockMyPic never receives, stores, or transmits your biometric information.

6. Cloud Backup (Optional)

LockMyPic offers an optional CloudKit-based backup. If you enable this feature, your encrypted vault data is synced to your private iCloud container. The data is encrypted end-to-end using AES-256-GCM before leaving your device. Apple cannot read the contents of your backup, and neither can we. You can disable or delete this backup at any time from the app settings.

7. Security

All media stored in LockMyPic is encrypted using AES-256-GCM, one of the strongest encryption standards available. Your vault key is protected by Apple's Secure Enclave via P-256 ECIES, meaning it is hardware-bound to your device and never exposed in plaintext. Even if your device storage were extracted, your media would remain unreadable without your biometric or PIN authentication.

8. Children's Privacy

LockMyPic is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
